Tips for a Good Motorhome Rental UK Experience

There are a few things everyone should know when considering a motorhome rental, UK. Following these simple tips will make your motor home rental more enjoyable and safer for everyone involved.

1. Picking up the Motor Home Always pick up the motor home after getting a good night''s sleep. Generally, this is not a problem for locals, but if you are flying in, then sleep at a hotel before picking up the motor home. A good night''s sleep will allow you to get used to driving the new vehicle before experiencing any fatigue. This one tip will help ensure the safety of all those riding in the motor home.

2. Pre-Book Your Motor Home This is especially true for the holiday season. The better motor homes get rented out fast and pre-booking ensures you get what you want. Waiting till the last minute may cost you added amenities that you really don''t want to go without. Also, the sooner you book, the better your chance of getting a good deal.

3. Charging the Batteries While it is not necessary to go to a campground every night, it is recommended to go at least every three nights. This will make sure your battery stays fully charged throughout the trip. It also gives you a chance to empty the toilet and refill the fresh water supply. In between campgrounds you can normally camp anywhere that does not have a "No Camping" sign or a "No Parking Overnight" sign.

4. Camping Laws Always check with the rental company when planning your holiday. There are some places where camping is restricted and the rental company will know where these places are. If the law says you cannot camp on the side of the road, you will need to know where camping is allowed. Many places can provide you with a map of designated camping sites for you to choose throughout your travel.

Campervan Hire Scotland FAQ

In the majority of cases, all drivers of campervans must be 21 years of age at the time of rental to driver the campervan. In many cases, discounts are given to drivers above the age of 25, as they are perceived to be safer drivers.

Do I need to purchase their insurance? It is recommended to purchase the rental insurance. Your insurance may not cover all damage that may occur to the campervan, and you may be held liable if something does happen. Since accidents do happen, it is always a good idea to purchase the additional insurance.

Who is responsible for maintenance? This is a really good question. The driver is responsible to make sure all the fluids and simple maintenance is done. If the campervan breaks down due to driver negligence, then the driver will be held responsible for all repair costs. However, if the campervan breaks down due to something out of the driver''s control, the rental agency will be held responsible.

Do I need to report drivers who may not drive? If you think a person will drive, then you need to report them as a driver. Do not let anyone drive who is not on the rental agreement. It is better to put someone on the agreement who may not drive than let someone drive who is not on the agreement. If someone not on the agreement drives and something happens, then they will not be covered and you will be held responsible for any damage.

How many miles do I get? This will depend on the rental agreement. Some agencies and agreements have limited miles and others have unlimited miles. It is very important that you fully understand the terms of your rental agreement before signing. This can become a very costly problem if you go over your agreed mileage.

What You Need to Know With Motorhome Rentals

Experiencing the open road and seeing all the sights from the comfort of motorhome rentals is beyond compare. Yet there are a few things you need to keep in mind before signing on the dotted line.

Deposits In many cases deposits are non-refundable. This is because motorhome rentals are booked in advanced, and finding someone to rent the motorhome after a cancellation is difficult. Therefore, make sure you have solid plans before putting a deposit on a motorhome. It is also advisable to read the cancellation policy. The amount of money, if any, returned will greatly depend on how much notice you give the rental agency.

Insurance Purchasing the extra insurance is always a good idea. While you can rely on your own insurance, you never know what may happen. Someone could hit you or damage the motorhome in a park. The extra insurance will help keep you covered and in some cases lowers the deposit amount.

Drivers It is very important that if you think someone may drive th e motor home, then you need to list them as a driver. If anything happens and a non-listed driver was driving, you can be held responsible.

Maintenance You are responsible for maintaining the vehicle. This means that you are to check the brake fluid, power steering fluid, and all engine fluids. If the motorhome breaks down because you did not keep the fluids up, then it will be your responsibility to fix it. However, this does not mean that you are responsible for break downs that were out of your control. You are only responsible if the problem is due to your negligence.

Hiring a motorhome or a campervan for your next holiday can be great fun. It allows for freedom of travel and spontaneity. Just keep these four tips in mind and you will have a blast traveling the country.

2009 Chevrolet Traverse Review

With GM ending its minivan line, Chevy has a crossover that will pick up from where the Venture left off. The Traverse is the newest addition to GM''s CUV line built on the same Lambda platform as the Saturn Outlook and the Buick Enclave.

The front fascia is inspired by the styling of the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu with its signature crossbar and large grill. The body styling is similar to the Buick Enclave and other GM CUV''s not surprisingly though, interestingly the rear window of the car is similar to the BMW X3.

But the back of the car is where the designers took a few risks. The wing shaped taillights are a unique design and even look slightly like taillights on the Audi Q7 but may they may take some getting used to. The taillights look almost over-powered and slightly disproportionate compared to the enormous tailgate.

The two tone interior is typically Chevrolet. Leather seats and a modern, clean appearance are. There is an emphasis on automotive technology inside such as glowing instrument panel and navigation screen.

Even though her design may take a bit of getting used to it is still yet to be determined if the Traverse can get minivan moms to trade in their Dodge Caravan and other to substitute the Traverse for their Lexus RX350.
